I've always loved the color patterns of our spruce trees in early summer. The branches form radial layers alternating with dark bands of shadow. The tips of the branches burst with soft, lime green needles. The result is an alternating pattern of dark, bright yellow/green, light green, dark green and then dark again.
I painted this pattern this evening on a small canvas.
Purged a large stash of STUFF.
Adelie and I investigated the properties of color - additive, absorbtive, and subtractive.
Resolved to begin a new phase of my life, a phase not dominated by my employment. I will most likely follow an artistic muse: piano, visual art, carving in addition to expanded outdoor pursuits.
Despite difficulties with my vision and hearing, I am in really good health.
